New beauty training academy in town

Owner of Lavendé Beauty Salon in Empangeni, Patricia Moodley opens a SAQA accredited training academy, The Beauty Lab Academy at Lavendé.

WITH more than 17 years’ experience in the local beauty industry, Patricia Moodley has branched into an exciting venture with the opening of her beauty training academy in Empangeni.

Owner of Lavendé Beauty Salon in Empangeni, Patty, as she is affectionately known, is a well-known Zululander with an infectious personality and a vast knowledge of trending beauty techniques.

The quote by John Spence rings true for Patty – “Knowledge is not power. Sharing knowledge allows you to empower others.”

It is this passion to share knowledge she’s acquired over the years that prompted her to open The Beauty Lab Academy at Lavendé.

Situated at 1 Higgs Road, Empangeni, the academy opened for business this week to the delight of local clientele.

The Beauty Lab Academy offers short modular beauty courses, which are nationally and internationally recognised. It is SAQA accredited and in line with Seta, as well as City & Guilds for international courses.

“The modular courses offer great benefits as, upon completion, one can become a mobile therapist, open their own salon, or even work abroad and on cruise ships,” said Patty.

Having run Lavendé for the last three years, Patty possesses SAAHSP and ITEC qualifications in beauty and recently qualified as a Seta assessor/ facilitator.

“Beauty is my passion and it is my desire to share it with others to further grow our industry. If you are interested in enhancing your beauty qualifications, phone 062 2426874 or email empangeni@tblgroup.co.za”
