As if recent rains were not enough, the SA Weather Service (SAWS) has warned of an intense weather system approaching from the Western Cape today (Friday).
Weather forecaster Wisani Maluleke said the weather system would move eastwards as it intensifies through the weekend.
“This is a typical system for producing conditions necessary for thunderstorm development and significant rainfall. It may result in 30% showers and thundershowers on Friday afternoon,” said Maluleka.
She further stated that significant rainfall (60%) is expected daily over KZN from Saturday until Tuesday.
“Thunderstorms could become severe during the weekend, leading to heavy downpours, damaging winds and potentially hail,” added Maluleka.
