5 tips to make your fuel go further

WITH yet another increase in petrol and diesel recently, scores of South Africans are feeling the financial pinch.

While we cannot change the price of fuel, we can certainly improve our driving habits to help our fuel last longer and go further.

Follow these tips:1. Avoid excessive idling – switch off your engine when possible
2. Turn off air conditioning – only use it when you really need it
3. Avoid stop/start driving – maintain the same speed rather than accelerating hard. Also, slow down gently
4. In traffic or at robots, switch off your vehicle rather than keeping it running – this will help save fuel
5. Apply for fuel cashback rewards programmes to get cashback at the pumps.
