Enseleni Nature Reserve beefs up security after poaching incidents
Beefed up security measures have led to recent arrests
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife has urged communities to consider the sustainable consumption of natural resources and join conservation practices to preserve the environment for future generations.
This after sporadic poaching incidents at the entity’s Enseleni Nature Reserve, which has prompted the conservation authority to ‘strengthen the facility’s security force’.
Beefed up security measures have led to recent arrests.
“We are doing the same at the Richards Bay harbour, and we urge all those who may be fishing illegally to apply for permits,” said Ezemvelo spokesperson Musa Mntambo.
Any person may apply for a permit by submitting a completed application form to the Post Office at a cost of just R50 up to R1 000, which is renewable annually.
