The swearing-in ceremony was presided over by KZN deputy judge president Isaac Madondo.
The changes were necessitated by the resignation of Sport, Arts and Culture MEC Amanda Bani-Mapena from Exco with effect from last month.
During the swearing-in ceremony Simelane said, to ensure continued service delivery in that portfolio, we deployed Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi, MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, to act as Sport, Arts and Culture MEC.
“It will be recalled that MEC Sithole-Moloi had served with distinction as Sport, Arts and Culture MEC previously, and her appointment in an acting capacity enabled the uninterrupted continuation of service delivery in the sector,” said Simelane.
“We thank MEC Sithole-Moloi for her role in ensuring stability in the department as acting MEC since Honourable Bani-Mapena’s departure.
“The new MEC for Human Settlements and Public Works has been a Member of the Provincial Legislature, serving with absolute commitment, diligence and dedication in various committees, including as chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Finance,” said Simelane.
