Classes postponed at Heuwelland Primary School

Owing to extensive damage after last week’s storm that wreaked havoc in and around Empangeni, Heuwelland Primary School is left with no choice but to postpone the ‘physical’ resumption of classes.

School principal Wynand Strydom said, “Since the storm hit last week, we have worked tirelessly to get it back up and running but to our dismay, there is too much to repair in such a short timeframe.

There is much to be cleaned and cleared before the resumption of classes

“With the safety of our students the major factor for us, we made the decision to postpone the opening for term two.

“With help from the Department of Basic Education, we have arranged for work to be available to pupils via Google Classroom, as an alternative.

“Our plan is to get mobile classrooms onto the rugby field so classes can resume as soon as possible,” he added.
