Life Empangeni Private Hospital wins Best Hospital category in Best of Zululand Readers' Choice Awards

LIFE Empangeni Private Hospital has been named the Best Hospital in the 2022/23 Best of Zululand Readers’ Choice Awards.

From humble beginnings as a small clinic 25 years ago, Life Empangeni Private Hospital has become a modern multi-disciplinary medical service upholding an excellent reputation – not only for delivering healthcare of the highest standards, but also for abiding to international best practices.

“We take great pride in our advanced facilities and team of brilliant medical facilitators and specialists, offering innovative and life-altering surgical procedures such as the recent minimally invasive spinal surgery,” said hospital manager John Fidler.

Life Empangeni Private Hospital last year played host to the second ever unilateral biportal endoscopy (UBE) spinal surgery to take place in South Africa, and the first for KZN. In another first for the province, the hospital introduced a revolutionary imaging system, named the Karl Storz Vitom 3D, to guide specialists in intricate procedures such as neurosurgery.

 

In an effort to improve, Life Empangeni Private Hospital has embarked on a number of upgrades to the facility over the last few months. This includes major refurbishments on the Neonatal ICU and maternity ward, as well as public bathrooms, and an upgraded air-conditioning system for the theatre.

In addition to servicing the surrounding communities with quality healthcare, the hospital displays its values tangibly, with numerous community initiatives.
