Truck hijacked, driver shot on N2
The incident occurred on the N2 northbound carriageway near Stanger.
A truck driver is in a serious condition after being shot when his truck was reportedly hijacked this morning (Thursday).
The incident occurred on the N2 northbound carriageway near Stanger.
Responding to the scene, IPSS Medical Rescue found the driver in a serious condition and the truck stolen.
Advanced life support paramedics stabilised him at the scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
A short while later, IPSS Security members located the abandoned truck in a sugar cane field on the outskirts of Stanger.
The suspects had already fled with their looted cargo.
Both scenes have been handed over to the SAPS for investigation.
