RECOVERY is in progress after a side-tipper coal truck driver lost control and ploughed into a building at the corner of Guldengracht and Dollar Drive shortly after 4.15am today (Friday).
According to a traffic officer on scene, the driver said another vehicle had skipped the robot and he was forced to hit brakes, causing the truck to jackknife.
The truck crashed into a road sign, a robot and a mini-substation, causing a power outage in the vicinity.
The towing rig arrived on scene at about 7.30am to remove the truck, which was extensively damaged.
The left lane on Guldengracht heading towards the Bullion Boulevard intersection was partially obstructed.
