Call to defend panel against ‘Ramaphosa stooges’

NFP calls for South Africans to rally behind the panel and defend its work

THE NFP has raised grave concerns about the ‘unnecessary attacks’ meted out against the independent panel following its report and findings against President Cyril Ramaphosa.

NFP Secretary-General Canaan Mdletshe said since the report came out, they have observed with great concern the concerted efforts of discrediting the panel, as some defenders have threatened legal action.

“We caution against this move by Ramaphosa’s stooges who are hell-bent on creating doubts over the excellent work of the panel,” said Mdletshe.

“With limited time and no powers whatsoever, the panel worked tirelessly and produced a report that exposed a constitutional delinquent on a grand scale.

“We view the attacks against Justice Sandile Ngcobo and Judge Masipa as a direct attack on the judiciary.

“We, therefore, make a clarion call to all law-abiding citizens to rally behind the panel and defend its work. We cannot, and should never, allow scavengers to destroy our country by protecting wrongdoing.

“If those defending President Ramaphosa believe he is innocent, let them allow all other investigative processes to unfold before tearing a report apart,” said Mdletshe.

He added that they are sad to see individuals and groups defending Ramaphosa who has ‘dismally failed’ to deliver necessary services to the people of this country, and done very little to bring about economic stability in the country.

“Those defending him are clearly out of touch with reality.

“President Ramaphosa hid thousands of dollars under his sofa. It’s a fact that he conducted business and received remuneration outside his salary as president.

“President Ramaphosa has been moonlighting since he took office. He has received monies from foreign countries, monies that even the penniless ANC was not aware of.

“As the NFP, we call on the citizens to come out and defend the panel and the judiciary against the likes of Advocate Thuli Madonsela. Ramaphosa is no angel. He is the worst president since the dawn of democracy.

“His silence when his stooges attack the judiciary, in particular the panel, raises concerns. It demonstrates the type of leader he is.

“We must defend the panel, its findings, and its recommendations. The fact that its findings were not what Ramaphosa’s sing-praisers were hoping for doesn’t change that its work was excellent. Let’s defend the panel, in particular Justice Ngcobo and the judiciary of our country against the president’s clowns,” he said.
