IFP takes uMhlathuze Ward 12 by-election

'Voters have outrightly abandoned the ANC for the IFP' - IFP KZN Provincial Chairperson Thami Ntuli

RESULTS of the by-election that took place in eMadlankala, Ward 12 yesterday (Wednesday) saw the IFP’s Vincent Dludla winning with 2 195 votes over the ANC’s Siphamandla Sibiya who received 1 750.

Parties contesting the by-election were the ANC, EFF, IFP and Congregational Christian Unity (CCU).

After the votes were tallied, the Ward 12 winning party stated their dedication to serving the people of KZN.

King Cetshwayo District Mayor and IFP KZN Provincial Chairperson Thami Ntuli said the IFP’s victory is a preview of what is to unfold in the 2024 national elections.

“It is proof that the people of KZN are desperate for change, and are rejecting the unethical and self-serving leadership that has come to characterise the ruling party, and which has plunged this province into mismanagement and corruption,” said Ntuli.

“These sentiments have been evident too in recent by-elections in uMvoti, uMfolozi, uMthonjaneni and now in uMhlathuze, where voters have outrightly abandoned the ANC for the IFP.”
