Mtubatuba murder-accused traditional healer case postponed for a second time

The accused will is set to apply for bail in September

A Mtubatuba traditional healer accused of murder has had his court case postponed for a second time.

The matter was on Thursday postponed to 8 September by KwaMsane Magistrate’s Court, owing to ill health of the accused’s legal representative.

This after an initial postponement last week, owing to the unavailability of witnesses, as well as network issues.

Christopher Mqadi was arrested in April, one day after he allegedly shot and killed his neighbour, 60-year-old Thobile Phangela.

The State is opposed to Mqadi being granted bail for a number of reasons, including that his release on bail could lead to conflict in the KwaMtholo community because its members have reportedly vowed to exact revenge on the accused.
