Partnership promotes healthy lifestyle in rural areas

Apart from educating residents about eating right, the department will appoint six students to undertake their work integration within the foundation.

The common goal of promoting a healthy lifestyle and diet in rural communities prompted the mutually beneficial partnership between the Linzwa Foundation and the University of Zululand (UniZulu) consumer science department in KwaDlangezwa last week.

Apart from educating residents about eating right, the department will appoint six students to undertake their work integration within the foundation.

‘We are promoting the ‘One home, one garden’ concept to curb poverty while promoting healthy living standards,’ said Dr Thembi Prudence Kheswa from UniZulu.

Linzwa Foundation director and founder, Lindiwe Dube, welcomed the partnership with open arms, saying her community is going to benefit from the corporation.
