Infrastructure Development and National Credit Amendment Bills available for comment

A public hearing on the Bill will be held on 3 May in Pietermaritzburg

The Portfolio Committee on Finance of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature hereby informs all stakeholders and interested parties of the publication of the Division of Revenue Bill, 2022 [B6-2022] for comment.

The Division of Revenue Bill, 2022 [B6-2022] seeks to provide for the equitable division of revenue raised nationally among the national, provincial and local spheres of government for the 2022/23 financial year, the determination of each province’s equitable share and allocations to provinces, local government and municipalities from national government’s equitable share and the responsibilities of all three spheres pursuant to such division and allocations; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

The Bill is available on the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature website, www.kznlegislature.gov.za and the Treasury website www.treasury.gov.za.

WHEREAS the Division of Revenue Act, 2021 (Act No. 9 of 2021), gives effect to section 214(1) of the Constitution in respect of the 2021/22 financial year; Public Hearings on the Bill will be held on 3 May 2022 from 9am at the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature Main Chamber, 239 Langalibalele Street, Pietermaritzburg 3200. Proceedings will also be streamed live on the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

All interested parties are hereby invited to submit comments on the Division of Revenue, 2022 [B6-2022] to the Finance Portfolio Committee using one of the methods listed below.
