‘We, as the municipality, distance ourselves from these criminals. Job seekers must know that we follow all correct channels when there are employment opportunities available,’ said Dhlamini.

‘We advertise jobs and follow the proper recruitment policies. Everything is done above board and no money is involved. We do not have any job opportunities available at present.’

He explained that a man is parading himself as ‘Mr Sibiya’, claiming he works for Ulundi Municipality.

‘This man is walking around promising people jobs and demanding cash in return. We urge all who have been scammed to report the matter to the police,’ he said.
