Connectivity issues cause backlog at some Zululand polling stations

The problem was reportedly resolved by 2.30pm

MANY Zululand voters eager to make their mark in Monday’s local government elections had to endure a long wait in the afternoon heat as connectivity issues hampered proceedings.

The problem was reportedly a slow down between the internet connection and IEC system, which caused a mass backlog and long queues at polling stations.

Numerous voting stations in Richards Bay were affected, as were many others across the country.

By 2.30pm, the problem had been resolved, and queues started to diminish as citizens were once again able to cast their vote.
