WATCH: N2 truck pile-up causes mayhem

The road was cleared and reopened around lunchtime

DETAILS are sketchy surrounding this morning’s (Wednesday) N2 accident involving four trucks, but the pile-up spanned the width of the national route, closing it for much of the morning.

The accident occurred just after 7.30am not far from the Hluhluwe off/on-ramp.

At least one truck left the road as a result of the incident.

The road was reopened around lunchtime, allowing stranded motorists impacted by the road closure, to resume their commute.

According to police reports, the four trucks involved in the accident were all travelling north.

The cause of the accident will be the subject of a police investigation.
