FOR the second time in recent weeks, Empangeni residents participated in a community clean-up after becoming fed up with the litter and garden refuse building up in public spaces.
This week’s clean-up, which took place on Saturday, focused on the greenbelt area on President Swart Avenue.

The project was initiated by Hans Pretorius who was inspired by the many clean-up campaigns that took place in the aftermath of the civil unrest, and he thought it would be a good idea to keep it going.
After Saturday’s clean-up, the difference was clearly visible, and the progress left proud smiles on the faces of all involved.
While there is still much to do, the Green Corridor community clean-ups will continue, with the aim of making the community cleaner all round.
