Motorists are able to renew their vehicle licences at the Richards Bay Post Office from 1 September following the installation of a renewal terminal at the building.
‘Post offices are busy places because social grants are paid out here so there will be a dedicated queue for motor vehicle licences,’ said Post Office spokesperson, Nobuhle Njapha.
She said the service, which is available in all provinces except the Western Cape, is one of the entity’s most popular services.
In the past financial year, more than three million car licences were renewed at post offices.
There is no commission fee and the licence disc is issued immediately.
‘The owner of the vehicle pays only the fee that is printed on the renewal notice,’ said Njapha.
