The Mad Batter Classic Cakes and Confectionery knows the importance of good cake. Having recently opened their shop at the Wyett’s Centre in Empangeni (underneath Steers and next to Soweto Jive), The Mad Batter is a modern take on the traditional bakery.

The Mad Batter stocks a delicious range of freshly baked cakes, tarts, loaves, gourmet cupcakes, rusks, biscuits and a variety of sweet treats for every occasion. They stock artisan bread, thanks to a partnership with The Sourdough Guy, and their shelves are packed with pickles, sauces and jams – all homemade by local bakers and makers.
This has been Kelly’s objective right from the start – to empower local bakers and makers economically by giving them a space to promote and sell their products.

Thanks to a group of incredibly talented bakers, you’re spoilt for choice with the many types of cakes and tarts available – and if they don’t have what you’re craving, just place an order! From chocolate and vanilla, to coffee, carrot, granadilla, Amarula and red velvet, The Mad Batter has it all! Their range of fridge tarts includes Cremora tart, tipsy tart, apple crumble, coffee, marshmallow, granadilla cheesecake, lemon cream, pecan nut pie, and everyone’s favourite, milk tart!
