Fallen cables cause mass power outage in Richards Bay

uMhlathuze ward 3 councillor, Henning de Wet is keeping residents abreast of the situation and updated for the duration of the outage

ACCORDING to the City of uMhlathuze, it will take until about 11pm tonight (Monday) for electricity to be restored in Richards Bay.

This after what has been described as a high voltage fault on the lines.

The whole of Richards Bay was taken offline and plunged into darkness earlier this afternoon as power lines fell across the road near the west entrance of the Port of Richards Bay.
