Rape suspect sought by police

According to King Cetshwayo cluster police spokesperson Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, Dube lured his victim to his rental home at Mdlalose cottages in King Dinuzulu township.

POLICE have secured a warrant of arrest against a rape suspect who has been evading arrest since January. Simphiwe Dube (39) of KwaMafana outside eShowe, is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl on Sunday, 17 January.

According to King Cetshwayo cluster police spokesperson Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, Dube lured his victim to his rental home at Mdlalose cottages in King Dinuzulu township.

‘He told her parent that he wanted to buy her a school uniform the following day,’ Mdlalose said. ‘It is alleged that at about 10 pm on Sunday, Dube raped his victim and then left the house.

‘The victim reported the incident to her mother and a case of rape was registered at eShowe SAPS the following day, but Dube was nowhere to be found.

‘We appeal to anyone who might have information about his whereabouts to contact the investigating officer, Detective Constable Halalisani Khanyile on 082 2117469, 035 4744211 or Crime Stop on 08600 1011.’
