Easter Sunday fatal accident near Mtunzini

THREE people were killed late last night (Sunday) in a two-vehicle accident on the N2 southbound in the vicinity of the Mtunzini off-ramp.

According to IPSS Medical Rescue whose paramedics attended the scene, one vehicle had rear-ended another, causing one to catch alight.

Three people were entrapped in one of the two vehicles, and all tragically succumbed to their injuries.

The jaws of life were used to extricate their entrapped bodies.

The driver of the second vehicle involved reportedly absconded from the scene.

The exact cause of the accident will be the subject of a police investigation.
