High school boys arrested

Grade 10 and 11 school boys arrested for having weapons at school

FOUR high school boys of Thulasibone High School in KwaMtholo were arrested yesterday following an unannounced search by the KwaMsane SAPS cluster officials.

The pupils in Grade 10 and 11 were charged with the possession of weapons after knives were found on their person, on school premises and they were detained at the Mtubatuba SAPS.

The pupils appeared at the KwaMsane Magistrate Court on Wednesday.

The KwaMsane SAPS has been running a crime awareness campaign at local schools where talks are given about the severity of drug and weapon possession.

‘The campaign aims to warn pupils about the consequences of being in possession of either drugs or weapons of any kind,’ said KwaMsane SAPS Spokesperson Captain Jabulani Mdletshe.

‘With the recent increase of brutal fighting at schools, it is imperative that we take action. There already exists a turf war in local schools that cannot be ignored.

‘We want to send out a very strict warning to surrounding schools that the police will keep making unannounced visits and any pupil in possession of drugs or weapons will be arrested immediately; no excuses,’ said Mdletshe.

Totally agree with having unannounced raids at schools , too often we hear of violence happening in schools, innocent people getting hurt, thumbs up to the Kwamsane saps for the good job they are doing , however pic was taken in 2011 we are now in 2014 when exactly was this story ? or is this an error on the time and date settings on the camera ?
