Gearing up for the MTN 8 final

Roadshow builds up steam for big soccer final

Soccer legends Joseph ‘Dukuduku’ Makhanya and Lefa Tsulupalupa visited the Zululand Observer’s Empangeni offices recently as part of their MTN8 Football Legends Media Roadshow and Trophy Tour in KZN.

The KZN part of the tour included Durban, Richards Bay and Empangeni.

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Makhanya and former Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder Tsulupalupa showcased the coveted trophy that Pirates and Celtic will fight for in the MTN8 final on 12 December.

‘Although this will not be an easy game for us as Celtic has a strong, young side, I still believe Pirates will take the game 2-0,’ said Makhanya.

‘Currently our squad is ready to go, except for striker Thembinkhosi Lorch who is out injured. ‘There are goals for charity in this game, with each goal earning R20 000, so I hope we actually win 3-1, to give R80 000 back to charity.’

‘We have an exciting team with young coaches who have a lot to prove and this is our second final in three months, so we are hungry to add this trophy to our cabinet,’ said Celtic supporter Tsulupalupa.
