These blockages are a result of littering, and when it rains, all rubbish on the streets is automatically transported into storm drains

KEEP the town clean.

Technicians managed to unblock all drains clogged up with waste such as paper, plastic, bottles, take-away containers and other materials.

The municipality said residents should help prevent such blockages by keeping the town clean and utilising rubbish bins and skips.

‘These blockages are a result of littering, and when it rains, all rubbish on the streets is automatically transported into storm drains, causing the blockages,’ said municipal Communications Manager, Mkhuseli Buthelezi.
