Illegally dumped carcasses cause discomfort in Empangeni

This is the third incident of this nature the ZO has reported on and the municipality is aware of this ongoing problem

COMMUNITY members queueing outside the Empangeni Home Affairs offices were earlier this week greeted by the stench of decomposing animal remains illegally dumped next to a stream in Biyela Road.

This was the third incident of this nature the ZO has reported on in recent weeks, and the municipality is aware of this ongoing problem that is plaguing the town.

This Home Affairs incident was reported to the municipality, and the carcasses were removed yesterday (Wednesday) by the appropriate department that had been instructed to investigate the matter.

The public is urged to report such acts to the City of uMhlathuze by-law department on the 24-hour hotline 035 9075760.

They can also report any such matters to Empangeni ward 23 Councillor Andre de Lange on the ward’s Facebook page or on the Whatsapp number 078 0781491.
