WATCH: Water buckets down on Empangeni’s Biyela Centre

The City of uMhlathuze responded with urgency and closed the valve

WATER problems continue to plague Empangeni, with another burst pipe in Biyela Street being the latest problem.

The exterior of the Biyela Centre was flooded by showers of water yesterday (Monday).

Ward 23 Councillor, Andre de Lange, said the issue is being attended to.

‘From the feedback I received, it appears that this problem was caused by poor workmanship by the contractors who replaced pipes about three years ago.

‘However, the municipality did respond with urgency and the valve was closed. Repairs are underway today,’ said De Lange.
