WATCH: Work begins after another big pipe burst in Richards Bay

The water pipe burst over the weekend and work to locate the leak commenced this morning

AN engineering team has today (Monday) been on scene at the intersection of Saligna and North Central Arterial (R619) roads, diagonally opposite John Ross College, attending to a major pipe burst.

In a repeat of what happened recently at the Ysterhout intersection, the 600mm main water line has burst and Arboretum residents can expect the repairs to take at least two weeks.

As per repairs at the Ysterhout intersection, a section of tarmac will have to be lifted to locate the leak, following which the faulty pipe section must be replaced before road repairs can begin.

This means that the stretch of road from Via Richardia to the R619 will not be open for motor vehicles for the foreseeable future.

Water interruptions can also be expected.
