A MAN (29), believed to be an employee of a factory near Mandeni, was burnt to death in what has been described as a freak accident yesterday.
The man suffered severe burns and died before the paramedics arrived on the scene.
Police search and rescue officers assisted by Metro fire fighters took about 45 minutes to cut through the container to reach the man.
The incident happened at 7am when the employee tripped and fell inside a shipping container converted to a wood-burning oven.
Metro officers used the jaws of life to remove a metal plate of the container to gain access.
