Week-old baby found dumped in eShowe
Police took the baby to eShowe Hospital for medical examination
A case of child abandonment was registered at eShowe SAPS on Monday night, after an infant was found dumped under a tree along Poyntone Road.
King Cetshwayo cluster police spokesperson, Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, said the infant was found by a community member, who quickly called the police.

‘A community member was walking to the petrol station when he heard a baby crying under the tree. When he went to investigate, he discovered that the baby was alone and there was no one around. The baby is about one week old,’ Mdlalose said.
Police took the baby to eShowe Hospital for medical examination.
