WATCH: Security guard killed in Mandeni taxi rank shooting

According to paramedics on scene, the area resembles an active war zone

THE Mandeni taxi rank is a no-go zone after a shoot-out claimed the life of a security guard and critically injured a further eight people.

According to IPSS Medical Rescue whose personnel are on scene, the rank resembles an ‘active war zone’ after a gun battle which has been raging since this (Wednesday) afternoon.

Multiple vehicles have been burnt at the scene.

The eight people who have been shot – seven security personnel and one member of the public – are all in a critical condition.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the shoot-out is taxi-related, with two opposing taxi associations fighting each other.
