Police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala, said the police conducted an operation after receiving information about suspected stolen vehicles travelling along N2 towards Mkhuze.

‘Police spotted two vehicles travelling at high speed. When they tried to flag them down, the drivers sped off.

‘The police gave chase and caught up with them.

‘Both suspects, aged 33 and 47, were arrested and charged for possession of stolen vehicles. Preliminary investigations revealed both vehicles were stolen in Gauteng,’ Gwala said.

They appeared in Ubombo Magistrate’s Court on Monday and were remanded in police custody pending further investigation.
