Foundation hard at work supporting vulnerable families

A local NPO is calling on businesses to help build a house for a destitute eSikhaleni family

UNDERTAKING relief efforts in eSikhaleni, businesswoman and community volunteer, Nompumelelo Ndlela, has gained first-hand knowledge of the plight of the needy as her community organisation, Success Way Foundation, continues with work on the ground amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Collaborating with other charities, Ndlela has initiated food, clothing and blanket drives to help vulnerable groups.

It was during one of these excursions that she met gogo Gumbi, who lives in a mud structure with eight children.

Gogo Gumbi was overjoyed receiving a donation of blankets and clothing from Nompumelelo Ndlela of Success Way Foundation

‘The family is in dire need of a decent house and we appeal to the business community in Zululand to help us achieve this.

‘For our Covid-19 winter drive we have received much support from various organisations such as The Ark Shelters, Richards Bay Baptist Church and the Zululand Observer’s Do I Care Enough? (DICE) charity.

‘Pastor Jason Currie must also be commended for always going the extra mile to help the poor and vulnerable in our communities,’ said Ndlela.
