Eat Well

Sugary foods and cold drinks can make you feel sluggish, which in turn decreases energy levels and increases the feel of the office chill.

Reaching for typical comfort foods, snacking on fruit or eating a light lunch will provide the necessary energy to get the job done.

Drinking green tea is also a great ‘pick-me-up’.

Not only will these give you the boost of energy you’re looking for, but will keep you a little warmer as well.

Keep Moving
Sitting still all day long is a sure way to stay cold.

To warm up, move around the office as much as possible when you can take short breaks.

Regular physical activity obviously helps you stay warm – and it’s healthy.

Heated chair
A heated office chair is just the thing to keep you cosy.

Sitting on a control-operated heated chair is a great way to get the body heat you need to stay comfortable.

If the boss says no to heated chairs, then arm yourself with a hot water bottle and use that.

Add a space heater
If allowed, take a space heater to work.

Sometimes just warming up your feet beneath your desk is all you need.

But remember to turn your space heater off at the end of each work day, since a heater left plugged in overnight can be a fire hazard.

Keep a blanket at your desk
Not only will a blanket keep you warmer, but it will also give your office a homelike look and feel, which studies have shown can help employees feel happier and more productive at work.

Dress appropriately
Dressing according to the office temperature is the best way to stay warm.

For many, the office is a cold place to be in, even in the summer months, so be sure to keep a sweater at your desk if you are the type who gets cold easily.
