Day-old baby girl abandoned in Mtubatuba
Residents claim to have seen an unknown girl walking around with a baby earlier in the day
KWAMSANE police are investigating a child abandonment case after a newborn baby was dumped outside a house in Mfekayi Reserve near Zamimpilo Market.
At about 6pm on Thursday the resident returned home from work and found a baby’s blanket bundled at her gate.

On closer inspection, the blanket was moving and the woman soon discovered a baby had been wrapped up in the blanket.
After the matter was reported to the police, the child was taken to a nearby clinic where she was deemed to be one day old and in good health.
No arrests have yet been made.
