An Empangeni resident has taken to dressing up on #binday
AS the current situation takes its toll on many, one Empangeni resident has chosen to laugh in the face of lockdown – and bring joy to the lives of others at the same time.
On seeing how they do things ‘Down Under’, Grantham Park resident Valda Searle has taken to dressing up – her bins and herself – every week on bin day.

Referred to by her friends and neighbours as an ‘awesome lady with a great sense of humour’, Valda’s antics are sure to have put smiles on faces.
‘Her daughter Angela emigrated to Australia a few years ago and got her mom going on the Aus Bin Day Facebook group, so she posts there every Tuesday,’ said friend Lucinda Tabrett.
Originating in Australia at the start of the global lockdown, the trend of #binday dress up has gained much traction across the globe and brought much joy to many.
