WATCH: Taxi collides with sugar cane crane
According to eyewitnesses on scene, the crane, which has no lights on the sides, was not visible to the taxi driver
FIFTEEN people were critically injured when the taxi in which they were travelling collided with a crane.
The accident occured at about 6pm lastnight (Saturday) on the R102 between Gingindlovu and eShowe.
The crane, which is used to haul sugarcane off trucks, was crossing the road when the taxi ploughed into it.
According to eyewitnesses on scene, the crane, which has no lights on the sides, was not visible to the taxi driver.
Four taxi passengers who all had multiple injuries were transported by IPSS Medical Rescue to a private hospital, while KZN EMS transported the balance to a government hospital.
