28-year-old man who raped 50-year-old woman and 14-year-old teenager sentenced to 20 years

AN Empangeni man who raped a 50-year-old woman and a 14-year-old teenager, has been sentenced to 20 years behind bars.
Nhlakanipho Mtshali (28) was handed a three-year sentence for housebreaking, a seven- and a five-year sentence for two counts of rape and five years for attempted murder. He committed the crimes in 2015.

According to King Cetshwayo Police Cluster spokesperson, Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, Mtshali, with six friends, broke into the home of a 50-year-old woman who was alone at the time.
Mtshali instructed his friends to rape the woman and when they refused, he alone raped her.
A few months later he struck again, this time raping a 14-year-old teenager in the Ntambanana area.
He also strangled her.
