Quick arrest of armed robber in Richards Bay Taxi City

An unlicensed pistol was recovered

A SUSPECT who robbed a commuter near Richards Bay Taxi City last week, was quickly arrested.

According to Richards Bay SAPS Communications Officer, Captain Debbie Ferreira, the gunman robbed the complainant while he was standing outside a shop in the centre after firing gunshots next to him and demanding cash before fleeing on foot.

He ran towards the bus rank and jumped into a public transport vehicle, but police officers in the vicinity managed to locate him and he was arrested.

An unlicensed pistol was recovered.
