Fun run to raise cancer awareness in Bay

The 5km family fun run/walk is aimed at creating awareness about healthy lifestyles and encouraging everyone to participate in the fight against cancer

THE Zululand community can get active, healthy and have some fun with the whole family at the Gijima for CANSA event on 3 February at the Zululand Multi Sport Club in Richards Bay.

The 5km family fun run/walk is aimed at creating awareness about healthy lifestyles and encouraging everyone to participate in the fight against cancer by ensuring people follow healthier diets, exercises more regularly, applying sunscreen and even volunteer to promote cancer awareness.

Registration opens at 7am and the walk begins at 8am. It is held in conjunction with the commemoration of World Cancer Day on 4 February.

According to local CANSA Community Mobiliser, Thobile Gumede, all proceeds raised during this fund-raiser will be used towards educating the public and offering support services to cancer patients and their families.

Tickets are R100 for adults and R80 for children under 12.
