WEATHER WARNING: Severe thunderstorms predicted for Zululand this evening
Severe storms and damaging winds are expected to hit Richards Bay this evening
THE South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a weather warning for severe thunderstorms expected in the province and region for this afternoon and evening.
According to SAWS, severe storms and damaging winds are expected in places over the interior of KZN.
‘A Gale force SW’ly wind 65-75km/h is expected between Port Edward and Durban in the afternoon, spreading to Richard’s Bay towards evening,’ the statement read.
SAWS further stressed caution for the region as there is a possibility of hail.

Transnet National Ports Authority have in the meantime confirmed that all shipping activities were suspended from as early as 10am this morning at the Richards Bay Port.
