BREAKING: Cash-in-transit ‘mastermind’ and accomplice shot dead on N2 near Nyoni

The cash-in-transit 'mastermind' is believed to be from Mfekayi Reserve, near Mtubatuba

TWO suspects have been shot and killed by police on the N2 near Nyoni (bridge 15), one of whom has been described as a most wanted bank robber and cash-in-transit (CIT) ‘mastermind.’

According to police reports, the National Intervention Unit, together with Durban’s K9 unit, made the swoop on the suspects who had been travelling northbound in a gold Mercedes-Benz after being involved in an ATM bombing at Umkomaas earlier today.

The most wanted suspect, whose identity is known to the ZO, is believed to be from Mfekayi Reserve area, near Mtubatuba.

On Monday a further three suspects believed to have been part of a group who attempted a cash-in-transit robbery in Nkwalini on the R34 just outside Empangeni last month, were also shot and killed by police on the N2 near Mandeni.
