SA too good for local boys

South Africa managed to win two out of three games

THE South African indoor cricket side again managed to get one up on the KwaZulu-Natal North sides in its friendly tour matches in Richards Bay, winning two of the three matches played.

The SA U/25 side took on a spirited KZN North Open squad in a fast game that produced great action.

The national outfit put on 85 runs in their allotted overs, generally a low score in this format of the game.

But with superb bowling and fielding performances from the visiting side, they restricted the KZN North side to 32 and won the game by 53 runs.

The next game saw the SA Over 40 side stealing a one run victory over the KZN Over 35 side.

SA made 82 in their 16 overs, with KZN North falling short at 81 runs.It was the KZN Over 30 side that managed to pull one back for the home boys when they beat the SA Over 30 side by two runs in a game that literally came down to the last ball.

SA put 90 runs on the scoreboard and KZN North reached 85 runs with one ball to go.

Smashing a 7 off the last ball got the home side to 92 runs and handed them a well deserved two-run victory.
