Pilot vanishes in mid air… search for plane continues
Johan Fourie of Newcastle was flying from his home town towards Lake Sibaya when he disappeared
SEARCH and rescue teams around Zululand are looking for a Newcastle pilot and his plane, which disappeared while flying over the vicinity of Lake Sibaya last Thursday.
Read the ZO Weekender today for a graphic of his flight path, and comment from his worried family, who are baffled by his disappearance, saying Johan Fourie (61) was a ‘meticulous planner, especially with his flight plans and work’.

He had sent an aerial photograph of the Lake to his family minutes before they lost contact.
