Hume shines in tough conditions

LOCAL enduro rider Calvin Hume powered his way to first in his class and fifth overall at the first round of the 2018 WFO Enduro Super Series held in Illovo over the weekend.
Hume, who now rides under Perry Bikes on a 250cc Husquvarna bike, had to utilise his experience and skill in tough riding conditions to achieve the results.
More than 170 riders took to the 40km technical track which offered tight cane breaks, steep hill climbs and drop-offs down to river crossings.
There were four signature hills, which were made challenging in the wet and muddy conditions.
Hume enjoyed the challenge and was able to complete the course without conceding any penalties .
He will now shift his focus to the National X-Country event, which takes place at the end of the month in eShowe.
