Cancer supporters end year positively

The support group is a place of encouragement and support for anyone affected by cancer

THE Cancer Day Nite committee and members of its cancer support group on Saturday enjoyed a festive breakfast to end off the year in a positive way.

The group meets at the Richards Bay Medical Institute (RBMI).

It is a place for those battling cancer to meet and give each other support and encouragement, as well as for their loved ones to gain the support they need and for cancer survivors to share testimonies and encourage others through their treatment.

‘We are so blessed to have so many people supporting each other through what is a very difficult time in their lives, and we feel privileged to be able to give help and support too,’ said Eurika Shaw, Co-Chairperson of the Cancer Day Nite Committee.

‘Our support group has grown exponentially during these last few months of 2017, and we hope it will continue to do so next year.’

The support group will resume meetings on 17 January and, for January and February, will meet twice monthly on a Wednesday at 6.30pm at RBMI.

From March, meetings will be held every Wednesday.

For those interested in joining the group, Eurika can be contacted on info@cancerdaynite.co.za.
