Inyanga is accused of rape

The woman from Pietermaritzburg told the ZO she and her friends went to Ingwavuma to consult a traditional healer after they had heard him talking on Ukhozi FM

A 35 year-old woman has opened a case of rape and common robbery against an Ingwavuma traditional healer.

The case was opened at Empangeni SAPS last week and the docket has been transferred to Ingwavuma for investigation.

The woman from Pietermaritzburg told the ZO she and her friends went to Ingwavuma to consult a traditional healer after they had heard him talking on Ukhozi FM.

‘When we got there, I told him I was a businesswoman and I needed to grow my business.

‘He said he would help, but demanded a payment of R15 800, which we did not have. He demanded to know who the owner of a Mercedes-Benz we were driving was.

‘I told him the car belonged to me. He then suggested to help us, but suggested he would keep the car with him until we could pay for his services.

‘He then called me to his consultation room and started asking funny questions about my family.

‘I told him I was an orphan and had lost my boyfriend. He said my dead boyfriend wanted to take me with him. Even if I wanted to leave, I would die.

‘He hypnotised me with an intention to rape me and ordered me to bring back the logbook of my car.

‘He said he would give me some muthi that I need to smear on my private parts, and he would do the same.

‘He said the exercise would help to chase the spirit of my late boyfriend away. He directed me to another bedroom where he raped me for three days without using protection.

‘I want this man behind bars. He raped me and took my car, he is heartless,’ she said.

KZN police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane confirmed that a case of rape was under investigation.
