Empangeni oldies step out

THE Empangeni Baptist Church held a special breakfast for its pensioners at the church on Thursday morning.

The year-end breakfast was for those over 50 belonging to the Loving Hearts Coffee Club.

According to church leader Pastor Shadrack Khumalo, the event serves to acknowledge the elderly and the important role they play in society.

‘Old people are sometimes neglected and we want to ensure they understand they are part of our communities and are very special to us.’ he said

Members prayed, sang and enjoyed great food and conversation.
