Prince Buthelezi demands action on rhino ‘poacher protection’

'Fresh' evidence alleges corruption after delays in poaching case

IFP leader, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, has called on the Justice Department to investigate allegations of corruption in rhino poaching cases in Zululand.

Buthelezi spoke exclusively to the ZO amid allegations that magistrates and prosecutors have been involved in bribery, specifically in the Dumisani Gwala rhino poaching case, which has been plagued by 17 postponements since going to court in 2015.

Jamie Joseph of Saving the Wild recently revealed extracts from a 14-page affidavit, seen by the ZO, made by a young man named ‘Fresh,’ the nephew of Gwala’s original defence attorney, ZW Ngwenya.
